Race was tightly bunched from start favouraite Mill Lane tried to challenge, but dissapointed. Mister Hill had traffic problems, only in the final strides that Hiltop Blackjack managed to pull clear. Mystery Man and Daydreamer took advantage of their prime gate positions. American Beauty found a good position behind them, however the 2 former horses opened up a significant gap at the 3/4 and Daydreamer then pulled away impressively on the home straight

Rebelwood went out fast to stretch his rivals ( 1.01 to 1/2), the only two within striking distance of him were Merrington Man and the Big Guy. Laidler pulled the plugs on the back straight and although M.Man responded so did the Big Guy and more impressively Rebelwood

It looked as though it could have been cut throat up front between Ayr Glory and Conner's Dragon. Ayr Glory managed to outsprint him to get the lead , from there on he looked very comfortable. An extremely good performance from all 2 yo's - with possibly the exception of Caenwood Quality who failed to settle

Hiltop Blackjack took them out, tracked by Daydreamer and Rebelwood. But Stoneriggs Wizzard produced some magic and was in the lead at the 1/4. A closely packed bunch came off the last bend with Daydreamer travelling best and getting ahead, the pack behind left 5 horses crossing the line together. The most impressive was Scoot Around producing a very late inside run.
